The pageant, the first of its kind this year, aims to honour the beauty of women from 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. It is not only a stage for contestants to affirm their beauty, intelligence and talent, but also a space to spread the message of cultural pride and solidarity among ethnic groups, contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage, and promoting the sustainable development of green tourism and community-based tourism - inevitable trends of the times.

The preliminary and final rounds are expected to be held in October. The organising board will select the 30 best candidates to enter the finale, expected to be held on the evening of November 15 at Moc Chau Island tourist site in Moc Chau ward and be broadcast live on the Son La Newspaper, Radio and Television and relayed by provincial and municipal television stations nationwide.

With beautiful natural scenery and developing tourism infrastructure, the Moc Chau National Tourism Area was chosen to host the contest, with Moc Chau Island to be the venue for the final round, finale and main activities.

Contestants are female Vietnamese citizens from all over the country and overseas Vietnamese living and studying abroad. The organising board is receiving  registrations from the beginning of July to September 30. To date, more than 50 contestants have registered to participate in the contest.
