Key tourist destinations in the province attracted a large number of visitors for sightseeing and relaxation, including the Moc Chau National Tourism Area, the hydropower reservoir in Quynh Nhai district, Ta Xua commune in Bac Yen district, the community tourism site in Ngoc Chien commune (Muong La district), and Son La Prison – a special national historic site in Son La city.
Notably, Moc Chau township alone hosted over 52,000 visitors during the five-day holiday from April 30 to May 4. Of these, 30,000 stayed overnight and 22,000 were day-trippers. Hotel occupancy reached 80%, with total tourism-related revenue hitting 67.6 billion VND (approx. 2.66 million USD).
Among the visitors to the province, there were 3,180 international tourists and 78,000 overnight guests, with the average room occupancy rate reaching 61%.
The total tourist number saw a slight decrease compared to the same period last year, as many travelers chose to visit Ho Chi Minh City to attend celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The Son La Prison special national historic site welcomes visitors during the April 30-May 1 holiday.
