Son La Tourism Contests 2025 awards presented

The Organising Committee of the Son La Tourism Contests 2025 held a ceremony on December 26 to announce and present awards. The event was attended by representatives of provincial departments and agencies, as well as authors and groups whose works won prizes.

The Son La Tourism Contests 2025 were launched by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in May 2025 and comprised five categories: voting for the recognition of tourism brands; beautiful tourism photography; video clip creation promoting tourism destinations; tourism slogan creation; and tour design and Son La tourism commentary.

After more than seven months, the Organising Committee received 341 entries from 55 authors inside and outside the province for the “Beautiful Son La Tourism Photos” contest; 153 for the tourism slogan contest; 39 for the tourism video clip contest; and 15 for the tour design and tourism commentary contest. The tourism brand recognition voting attracted 45 units and establishments, with a total of 167,695 votes.

A judging panel was established to ensure objective and fair evaluation, selecting works that met requirements in terms of content and theme, demonstrated artistic value, and conveyed meaningful messages contributing to the promotion of Son La’s destinations, culture, people, and tourism.

The contests provided a useful and engaging platform that encouraged creativity, promoted tourism branding and destinations, supported the implementation of Son La’s green tourism development strategy, and contributed to the sustainable growth of the province’s tourism sector.

The Organising Committee decided to present five first, five second, 10 third, and 10 consolation prizes for works winning the Beautiful Son La Tourism Photos contest; two first, three second, five third, and five consolation prizes for the Son La tourism video clip contest; one first, two second, three third, and two consolation prizes for the tour design and tourism commentary contest; and five consolation prizes for the tourism slogan creation contest.

Four establishments win awards for outstanding tourism products and services.

Awards are presented to outstanding hotels, accommodation establishments, and food and beverage service businesses.

For the tourism brand recognition voting, awards were presented to four establishments recognised as tourism sites and attractions with outstanding products and services; three in the hotel group with exemplary products and services; two in the group of other accommodation providers with exemplary products and services; and two in the standardised food and beverage service category.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also awarded the certificates of merit to three tour guides who participated in and achieved high results at the 2025 Expanded North Central Region Tourism Guiding Skills Contest.
