Among them, five are international tour guide licences, 30 domestic, and one for an on-site guide. The provincial Tourism Association has also established a branch in charge of travel agencies and tour guides to provide professional support and foster connections among its members.

In addition to full-time professionals, many guides also serve as collaborators at historical sites and tourist destinations, often working in a part-time or freelance manner.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with local authorities, has regularly organised training courses to enhance the skills and professional capacity of tour guides, helping to better connect and promote Son La’s tourism to both domestic and international visitors.
