Efforts made to ensure readiness for inauguration of BHL Son La modified starch processing plant

The Son La provincial Industrial Park Authority on October 7 held a working session with BHL Food Ingredients Processing JSC to prepare for the inauguration of the BHL Son La modified starch processing plant. The project forms part of activities celebrating the 130th anniversary of Son La province’s establishment.

At the meeting, after hearing the event organiser present plans for the inauguration ceremony, including the programme script, reception arrangements, venue layout, seating for delegates, and rest area setup, the provincial Industrial Park Authority offered feedback to ensure the event would be held in a dignified, practical, and meaningful manner.

The project received investment plan and first investor approvals from the provincial Industrial Parks Authority on May 9, 2024. With total investment exceeding 244 billion VND (9.25 million USD), the project includes a factory, office building, and processing lines. Designed with an annual capacity of 90,000 tonnes or 300 tonnes per day, the plant produces chemically modified starch derived from cassava. Construction began in March 2025 and has now been completed.

Speaking at the meeting, a representative of the provincial Industrial Park Authority requested BHL Son La Food Processing JSC and the contracted event organiser to incorporate the feedback provided, make necessary adjustments and additions, and thoroughly prepare all aspects to ensure the plant’s inauguration ceremony takes place on October 9 as scheduled.
