Fresh tea bud output reaches 16,750 tonnes

Since the beginning of the year, the total output of fresh tea buds in Son La province has reached 16,750 tonnes, an increase of 2.6% from the same period last year. This production has fully met the demand for raw materials from enterprises, cooperatives, and processing units for both domestic consumption and export.

Farmers in Binh Thuan commune harvest tea.

Tea-growing households across the province have focused on improved cultivation practices, transitioning from traditional farming methods to organic and VietGAP production to enhance productivity and product quality.

Notably, Thu Dan Oolong Tea, Trong Nguyen Tea, Special Shan Tea, Special Bat Tien Tea, Matcha, Sencha, Black Tea, and Ta Xua Cloud Green Tea have been recognised as provincial-level OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, earning strong popularity among consumers.
