Son La province’s aquaculture output surpasses 3,330 tonnes in 5 months

The province currently has 21 aquaculture value chains, with 2,939 fish cages and rafts operating on the Son La hydropower reservoir. The total aquaculture area reaches 2,961 hectares, including 2,955 hectares dedicated to fish farming.

In the first five months of the year, the province’s aquaculture output exceeded 3,330 tonnes, an increase of 4.79% compared to the same period last year. This includes 3,278 tonnes of fish and over 55 tonnes of other aquatic products.

Local authorities have directed households to continue expanding aquaculture areas, invest in pond improvement and maintenance, and enhance disease prevention and control measures to ensure sustainable development of the aquaculture sector.
