Ta Hoc converts crop, livestock structures

Ta Hoc commune in Son La province is shifting crop and livestock structures with a view to raising its average per capita income to 30 million VND (1,148 USD) per year.

The commune is stepping up dissemination and mobilising people to convert crop and livestock structures to bring high economic efficiency.

To date, locals are intensively cultivating 43 hectares of rice; over 1,700 hectares of maize; 664 hectares of fruit trees, of which nearly 142 hectares are cared for in an organic, high-tech direction; 458 hectares of sugarcane; 57 hectares of coffee; and 54 hectares of vegetables. They also raise a total herd of more than 70,500 livestock and poultry.

The commune has six cooperatives operating effectively in the fields of cultivation, supplying agricultural materials and selling agricultural products for local farmers.
