First Bac Yen commune Sports Festival opens

Bac Yen commune held the opening ceremony of the first Sports Games 2026 on June 25 morning, featuring the participation of more than 700 officials, residents and athletes across the locality.

The opening ceremony took place in a lively atmosphere with a range of performances, including folk and modern dances, a parade showcasing participating groups, and the traditional torch relay ritual. The parade featured 18 contingents with more than 700 participants, representing hamlets, sub-zones, agencies and units across the commune, creating a solemn yet energetic sports festival atmosphere.

The first Bac Yen Sports Games brings together 12 sports teams and 220 athletes from hamlets, sub-zones, agencies and units. Athletes compete in three sports, including badminton, men’s and women’s volleyball, and athletics, with a total of 11 events.

The Games will select outstanding athletes to participate in the 10th provincial Sports Games 2026. Through the event, Bac Yen commune continues to promote the campaign “All people exercise following the great example of Uncle Ho,” aiming to improve public health, physical fitness and spiritual well-being. It also seeks to strengthen solidarity, exchanges and mutual learning among hamlets, sub-zones, agencies and units across the locality.
