Welcoming the Bokeo delegation were Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee and head of the province’s delegation to the National Assembly; members of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board; and leaders of the provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and several provincial departments and agencies.
In an atmosphere of close friendship and special solidarity, Nghiem warmly welcomed the Bokeo delegation to Son La to present the Orders of Laos to collectives and individuals from the province.
The Son La Party chief briefed the delegation on the province’s key achievements in politics, socio-economic development, national defence and security, as well as public order and social safety. He also highlighted the results of cooperation between Son La and Bokeo across various fields in recent years.
Close, trusted coordination and mutual support between the two provinces have made an important contribution to maintaining national defence and security and public order and safety in border areas, while also expanding cooperation in the economy, education and training, health care, culture and people-to-people exchanges, he stated.
Nghiem expressed his hope that the two provinces would continue to deepen comprehensive cooperation across sectors under newly signed cooperation agreements for the 2026–2029 period.
He also expressed his wish that the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos, as well as between Son La and Bokeo, would continue to reach new heights.
On behalf of the Bokeo delegation, Paenkham Boutchanpheng thanked Son La’s leaders for their warm and thoughtful reception during the visit and congratulated the province on its achievements across various fields.
He also praised Son La for its support for Bokeo in recent years and briefed the delegation on Bokeo’s potential and advantages.
The Bokeo Party chief expressed his hope that Son La would continue to support and strengthen cooperation with Bokeo, particularly in agriculture and environmental protection.
Such cooperation, he said, would help further strengthen the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and between Son La and Bokeo, ensuring the relationship continues to develop in a sustainable manner./.
