After nearly nine months of construction, the project has been completed thanks to close provincial oversight and the concerted efforts of departments, agencies, local authorities, the investor and the contractor. It was among the first two projects completed in Son La out of 13 inter-level boarding school projects being built in the province’s border areas.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Viet praised the close coordination among provincial departments, local authorities and businesses, saying they had mobilised resources and expertise to complete the project with a strong sense of responsibility.

He called on local authorities and the school to conduct a comprehensive trial operation immediately following the inauguration, with a focus on helping students establish routines for boarding, daily activities and adapting to their new learning environment. He also stressed the need to closely monitor students’ meals, sleep, health and psychological well-being.
The provincial leader urged the school to continue working with the project investor and contractor to complete remaining works and ensure a full handover on schedule. The school should also cooperate with the Border Guard Force to educate students on ethics, values, patriotism and love for their homeland, with the goal of turning the school into a cultural and educational hub of the border commune, where every teacher helps sow the seeds of knowledge and every graduating student becomes a driving force in building their homeland.
At the inauguration, the Yen Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School and the Chieng On Border Guard Station signed a cooperation agreement for the 2026-2027 academic year.
On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to four organisations and six individuals for their contributions, while the Yen Son commune People’s Committee presented certificates of commendation to three organisations and 47 individuals.
