Chairman of provincial People's Committee inspects progress of Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway project

Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, on July 31 conducted a field inspection and held a working session with the investor and contractors on the progress of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway project - section running through Son La province.

He was accompanied by Nguyen Minh Tien, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, representatives of several provincial departments and sectors, and leaders of Van Ho and To Mua communes.

The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway’s Son La section has a total length of 32.3km and consists of three construction packages (packages No. 26, 27 and 28). Local authorities continue to focus on site clearance. To date, compensation and site clearance plans have been approved and 31.93km out of 32.30km have been handed over, reaching 98.85%.

Across the entire route, contractors are currently maintaining 39 construction teams working on roadbed works, bridges, interchanges and auxiliary facilities, with 678 workers and 320 pieces of machinery and equipment. The total completed construction value is estimated at 398.7 billion VND (15.16 million USD) out of the total contract value of over 3.35 trillion VND, reaching 12%.

For the first rest stop (Km75+920, on the right side of the route), the contractor has basically completed site levelling over an area of about 3.07 hectares, with a surface area of 2.9 hectares. The second rest stop (Km76+400, on the left side of the route) has completed site levelling over 3 hectares, with a surface area of 2.7 hectares.

Concluding the working session, Chairman Viet acknowledged the efforts of the investor, contractors, Van Ho and To Mua communes, and relevant agencies in implementing the project. He requested the investor to continue closely monitoring the construction sites and coordinate with departments, sectors, localities and contractors to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles.

He also asked relevant agencies to focus on completely addressing remaining site clearance issues, particularly remaining pockets of land, disposal sites and temporary access roads. The investor was urged to urgently complete procedures for adjusting and expanding the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway from a two-lane to a four-lane one.

Contractors were requested to mobilise maximum human resources and machinery, organise construction in a scientific manner, take advantage of favourable weather conditions, increase working shifts, and ensure progress, quality, labour safety and environmental protection, striving to meet the set milestones./.
