Delegations from Laos' Houaphanh, Xieng Khouang provinces visit Son La

Delegations from the Lao provinces of Houaphanh and Xieng Khouang, respectively led by Phouthphan Keovongsay and Phouvong Ounkhamsen, both members of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Secretaries of their respective provincial Party Committees and Chairmen of their provincial People's Councils, paid a working visit to Son La province on November 1.

Welcoming the delegations were Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Vi Duc Tho, member of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; and leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Hung briefed the delegations on the schedule, venues and agenda for the visit, working sessions and signing of a cooperation agreement for the 2026-2029 period. Under the plan, the provinces will review their cooperation outcomes in recent years in socio-economic development, national defence, security, education and training, while discussing and reaching consensus on cooperation priorities for the next period.
