Muong Hung Primary and Secondary Boarding School has a total investment of over 251 billion VND (9.68 million USD) and comprises 30 classrooms, functional rooms, boarding facilities, a dining hall, a swimming pool, a multi-purpose sports ground and auxiliary facilities. Construction has so far reached 98% completion, with efforts being made to complete the project before September 14. Meanwhile, Chieng Khoong Primary and Secondary Boarding School has a total investment of over 258 billion VND, with construction reaching 94% completion. The project is expected to be completed before September 19.
Alongside construction progress, the communes and schools have made preparations for teaching and learning, accommodation, meals and boarding arrangements for students. In the 2026-2027 academic year, Muong Hung Primary and Secondary Boarding School has 48 staff members and teachers, and 1,050 students, including 1,023 boarding and 27 semi-boarding students, while Chieng Khoong Primary and Secondary Boarding School has 62 staff members and teachers, and 1,002 students.
Speaking at the inspection, Cua asked project investors and contractors to mobilise maximum manpower and machinery, accelerate construction, complete the remaining items, ensure quality, and hand over the facilities for use as soon as possible. He also urged local authorities and schools to make thorough preparations in terms of facilities and personnel, and ensure arrangements for teaching, accommodation, meals and student care.
The official stressed that the completion and operationalisation of the facilities will provide students from ethnic minority communities with better, more modern and well-equipped learning and living environments, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education./.
