Extra efforts urged for public investment disbursement, project implementation

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Tien on July 22 chaired a meeting to review the progress of public investment disbursement, the implementation of 10 disaster prevention and recovery projects in 2026, and efforts to address obstacles facing transport, construction and urban development projects.

The hybrid meeting, connected to 54 commune- and ward-level venues across the province, saw the attendance of leaders of relevant departments, agencies and project management boards.

Total public investment allocated for projects in the province amounts to more than 7.78 trillion VND (295.6 million USD). Of this, over 1.97 trillion VND comes from  the 2025 capital plan that has been permitted to extend its implementation and disbursement into 2026, while more than 5.8 trillion VND is allocated under the 2026 public investment plan.

As of July 21, more than 2.88 trillion VND had been disbursed, equivalent to 37% of the total capital plan assigned and 48.06% of the detailed allocated capital plan, an increase of 265.26 billion VND compared with the amount disbursed as of June 30.

Regarding the 10 disaster prevention and recovery projects in 2026, as of July 20,  the Department of Finance had completed appraisals and acceptance for all of them. In-principle approvals have been granted to eight projects, while the remaining two are completing procedures for submission to the provincial People's Committee for approval in accordance with regulations.

Addressing the event, Tien called on provincial departments, agencies and local authorities to proactively review and make effective use of public assets following the administrative restructuring, and expedite project appraisal and site clearance for projects scheduled to commence soon. He urged project developers to map out detailed implementation schedules for each project, clearly define deadlines for every task, regularly report on progress, and promptly propose solutions to the provincial People's Committee to address emerging difficulties and obstacles.

Once investment procedures are completed in accordance with regulations, the Department of Finance was tasked with promptly advising the provincial People's Committee on the detailed allocation of contingency budget funds, enabling project developers to implement their projects and disburse investment capital on schedule./.
