The branch has focused on investing in and upgrading information technology infrastructure and equipment, while deploying an integrated electronic document management system, digital signatures and specialised professional software.

To date, all divisions are connected to internal networks and the Internet, while 100% of documents are processed entirely electronically. About 90% of work dossiers are handled online, and more than 80% of meetings are held via videoconference. The systematic digitisation of records and data has significantly shortened processing times and strengthened management and administrative effectiveness following the apparatus restructuring.

Nguyen Mai Phuong, an officer with the Administration and Human Resources Divisions of SBV Region III, said the use of management software has streamlined document processing and reduced traditional paperwork.

“It also allows us to easily monitor each stage of the process, making the work more transparent and accurate,” she said.

To ensure seamless direction and administration, the branch has invested in videoconferencing facilities connecting its various locations, alongside an integrated electronic attendance system.

In addition to upgrading infrastructure, it has placed emphasis on strengthening digital skills among its officials and employees. The “Digital Literacy for All” initiative has been incorporated into Party cell meetings and professional activities, encouraging staff to proactively update their knowledge of science, technology and digital transformation skills through a platform developed by the Ministry of Public Security. To date, all employees at the branch have received basic digital skills training.

Dang Le Ngoc, acting head of the branch’s Accounting and Payments Division, said the branch operates across three locations, making digital management systems particularly useful in automating task assignments, monitoring progress and controlling the quality of completed work.

“The management board can closely monitor each stage of professional operations, while staff can proactively track their own progress, minimising the risk of tasks being overlooked,” he said.

Digital transformation has also driven a breakthrough in administrative reform at the branch. All eligible administrative procedures are now available online, while inspection and examination activities are gradually being digitised. The branch is also proactively applying artificial intelligence (AI) to professional advisory and work-processing activities.

To strengthen data security, the branch has signed a coordination agreement with the Son La provincial Department of Public Security on cybersecurity.

At the same time, SBV Region III continues to direct credit institutions to accelerate digital transformation and promote cashless payments.

The payment system has remained safe and uninterrupted, while ATMs and POS terminals continue to meet residents’ transaction needs. As of August 2026, the value of cashless payments processed by credit institutions in the region reached 250.66 trillion VND (9.63 billion USD), with 463,376 cards issued during the period.

Looking ahead, Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Deputy Director of SBV Region III, said the branch would continue to fully implement directions from the Party, the Government and the SBV on digital transformation, while emphasising the responsibility of leaders and further strengthening the digital capabilities of its staff.

The branch will also accelerate the digitisation of professional processes in conjunction with administrative reform, make more effective use of digital data for management and administration, ensure information security, and direct credit institutions to step up digital transformation and cashless payments.

The coordinated digital transformation measures are helping SBV Region III gradually modernise its management and administrative practices, improve the efficiency of its professional operations and build a more professional and transparent working environment, while meeting the development requirements of the banking sector and supporting socio-economic development in the area./.
