The delegation was welcomed by Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee; and representatives of relevant provincial departments and agencies.
The delegation explored agricultural tourism spaces linked to the production and marketing of local farm products at the Na Ka plum valley. They also visited tea hills and agricultural tourism models at the Mocha Hill tourist area.
The delegation experienced the traditional cultural space of the Thai ethnic community, enjoyed cultural performances and joined a traditional xoe dance with local residents at the Vat Hong community-based tourism site. They also visited the Bach Long Glass Bridge at the Moc Chau Island tourist area and toured the Moc Chau Orchid Exhibition Festival 2026.
In addition, the ambassador and his entourage surveyed a high-quality crop seed production model and learned about agricultural cooperation between Japanese businesses and Son La at TAKII Seed Vietnam Co., Ltd. They also toured an export-oriented tea processing line and observed tea production and processing under Japanese standards at the Satoen Tea Factory.
Ambassador Ito and the delegation spoke highly Son La’s potential for developing agricultural tourism, high-tech agriculture and distinctive local products. These are also among the key sectors in which Son La province seeks to strengthen cooperation, attract investment and expand market linkages for its agricultural products with Japanese partners in the coming years.
