The project has total investment of more than 254 billion VND (9.72 million USD) and covers over 4.8 hectares. It comprises 12 main buildings, including classroom buildings, subject-specific buildings, boarding, multipurpose and dining facilities, along with various auxiliary works.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, the school will host 1,050 students from grades 1 to 9, mainly children from ethnic minority communities.

With the “blitz” spirit and the “100-day” campaign, everyone raced against time to complete a new, spacious and modern school in just over nine months, ready to welcome students for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In his remarks, Hung highly valued the sense of responsibility shown by provincial departments and agencies, as well as the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and people of Long Phieng commune. He also commended the efforts of the project investor, consultants and contractor, particularly the engineers and workers who overcame difficulties and worked tirelessly around the clock to complete the project as scheduled.

The official called on authorities at all levels, sectors, local authorities and the school to conduct a comprehensive, substantive and effective trial operation, thoroughly reviewing procedures for school management, teaching, student management, boarding arrangements, accommodation and daily activities, school health care, security and safety.

The Department of Education and Training was asked to coordinate with the commune People’s Committee to ensure adequate staffing and teachers, particularly for subjects where shortages remain.

He also called for stronger coordination among the school, families, the community and local forces to support the school in managing students in the boarding area.

On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to two collectives and four individuals for their contributions to the construction of primary and secondary boarding schools in border communes across Son La province.
