Management Council of provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund meets

The Management Council of the provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund, convened a meeting on July 30, under the chair of its head Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.

In the first six months of 2026, the Management Council effectively carried out its role in leading, directing and supervising the fund’s operations. The management and use of the fund’s financial resources continued to be conducted in a strict manner and in compliance with regulations.

The collection and disbursement of forest environmental service payments basically met the set plans, while the preparation of maps and determination of forest areas eligible for payments were implemented on schedule.

It is estimated that by the end of the second quarter of 2026, the fund had collected more than 107.5 billion VND ($4.09 million USD) from forest environmental services, equivalent to 42.2% of the annual plan and an increase of 25.07% from the same period last year.

Implementing payments for forest environmental services, the fund coordinated with banks to make payments through bank accounts, ensuring publicity, transparency, and compliance with regulations.

At the same time, it focused on reviewing and completing dossiers, procedures, and necessary conditions to promptly implement payments once the regulation and support plan is approved by competent authorities.

Regarding the implementation of replacement forest planting, the fund collected nearly 7 billion VND and transferred more than 8.6 billion VND to organisations assigned to carry out replacement forest planting projects in accordance with plans approved by the provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Cong requested members of the Management Council to continue improving operational efficiency; and effectively implement assigned programmes and plans, ensuring quality, progress, and compliance with legal regulations.

They were uged to carry out forest environmental service payments to the right beneficiaries in an open and transparent manner; strengthen dissemination of policies on forest environmental service payments; and raise awareness among forest owners and local communities regarding forest management and protection./.
