Memorial, funeral service, and burial held for fallen soldier at Yen Chau Martyrs' Cemetery

The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Chau commune held a memorial service and burial ceremony at the Yen Chau commune Martyrs' Cemetery on September 13 for the remains of a fallen soldier recovered from Hua Dan hamlet, Chieng Hac commune.

Attending the event were Luong Thi Van Anh, Head of the provincial Party Committee's Board for Internal Affairs; Nguyen Manh Hung, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and representatives from the provincial Military Command, the Department of Internal Affairs, and the provincial Steering Committee 515. Local officials, armed forces, and residents from Yen Chau and Chieng Hac communes were also present.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates laid flowers, offered incense, and observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the fallen soldier's sacrifice for national independence and freedom. Following the memorial service, the remains were reinterred at the Yen Chau commune Martyrs' Cemetery in accordance with standard protocols.

The recovery operation was launched on September 11 by the provincial Steering Committee 515 following reports from residents in Hua Dan hamlet regarding a soldier buried during the resistance war. Search teams excavated one set of remains alongside personal artifacts, including three buttons and multiple shrapnel fragments located near the skull and back area.

Authorities extracted biological samples for DNA testing to determine the soldier's identity before handing over the remains to Yen Chau commune for burial.
