Military Region II Command pays pre-Tet visit to provincial Party Committee

Major General Nguyen Hong Thai, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region II Command, on January 4 led a working delegation to visit and extend Lunar New Year (Tet) wishes to the Son La provincial Party Committee.

Welcoming the delegation were Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thai Hung, member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee; and leaders of the provincial Military Command.

Thái provided a brief overview of the military and security situation in Region II in 2024. He noted that the units and forces of the Military Region II Command fulfilled all assigned national defence and security tasks, meeting the expectations set by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence.

On behalf of the Military Region II Command, he congratulated the Party Committee and people of Son La for their achievements over the past year, particularly in maintaining military, national defence, and security duties, preserving political stability, and supporting local people in overcoming the aftermath of Typhoons Prapiroon and Yagi. He also praised the province for maintaining economic growth and social welfare.

He expressed his hope that the provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee would continue to prioritize national defence and military tasks, particularly the construction of the provincial defence area and strengthening the all-people national defence posture.

Khanh thanked Major General Thai and his delegation for their visit. He emphasised that national defence is always a top priority for the provincial Party Committee and authorities. He proprosed that the Military Region II Command continue to support and work closely with the province to further develop a strong and regular army that is capable of meeting all assigned tasks.

On this occasion, Major General Thai and his delegation visited the provincial Military Command and the provincial Border Guard Command to discuss combat readiness and preparations for the Lunar New Year celebrations for military personnel.
