Permanent members of 16th provincial People’s Council meet

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Lo Minh Hung on September 14 chaired the 11th meeting of the permanent members of the 16th provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 tenure to consider and decide on several matters within their authority.

Attending the event were Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council Nguyen Viet Cuong and Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Hau, among others.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and commented on the matters submitted by the provincial People's Committee, including the list of resolutions of the provincial People's Council (eighth batch of 2026); the results of receiving and responding to feedback and reviewing matters as requested by the permanent members of the provincial People's Council; and the legal basis for policies supporting the application of scientific and technological research results, innovation and digital transformation.

he delegates considered a number of matters, including the establishment of a supervision delegation to oversee the decentralisation and delegation of power under the two-tier local administration model; the consolidation and annulment of several resolutions; the selection of groups of issues and persons to be requested to provide explanations; a plan for explanations on state management of food safety; and another plan to supervise the implementation of policies for reputable persons among ethnic minority communities in the province.

They also looked into a proposal to the People’s Council for approving a project on digital transformation in the operations of People’s Councils at all levels in Son La province for 2026-2030 at the fourth thematic session; the consolidation of the heads of provincial People’s Council delegate groups for the 16th tenure; and a draft resolution promulgating procedures for receiving, classifying, forwarding, monitoring, urging and supervising the settlement of voters’ petitions.

In his concluding remarks, Hung asked the drafting agency to incorporate comments made at the meeting and coordinate with the People’s Council’s boards to finalise the drafts, ensuring their content and format comply with regulations./.
