The event is scheduled to take place in October at Tay Bac (Northwest) Square. Preparations are now entering a critical phase, focusing on finalising the festival agenda, infrastructure, funding, guest arrangements, trade fair, seminars, business networking, and communications.
The festival is expected to feature 13 major activities, including a trade and exhibition fair; an international seminar titled “Sustainable Coffee Development Towards an Ecological Approach”; business networking for coffee products; the “Son La Arabica” Marathon; the “Son La Arabica Master Cup” competition; a photo exhibition themed “Son La Coffee – A Journey Beyond”; the “Son La Arabica Melodies” concert; the “Coffee Farm Experience – From Farm to Cup” programme; and a farmers’ competition and an awards ceremony honouring outstanding coffee-growing households, among other activities.
Participants at the meeting focused their discussions on funding and human resources; the commencement and inauguration of key coffee-processing projects; coordination among agencies in organising the festival’s various activities; communications and protocol; environmental protection; and maintaining security and public order before, during, and after the festival.
Communications for the second Son La Coffee Festival 2026 have been intensified across traditional media and digital platforms. Since June 16, Son La Newspaper and Radio-Television has published more than 550 news reports, articles, photo stories, features, and video clips.
The agency is also accelerating production of documentaries and feature reports while preparing technical and logistical arrangements for live television broadcasts and livestreams of the opening and closing ceremonies and the concert.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Tien asked relevant agencies to closely follow the approved plan and accelerate assigned tasks while ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
He highlighted the need to finalise the overall script, stage design, festival agenda, and individual activities. He also called for stronger communications and promotional efforts to create a vibrant festival atmosphere and promote the image and brand of Son La coffee among residents, visitors, and business partners.
The provincial Department of Public Security and Military Command were asked to proactively develop detailed plans and scenarios to ensure security, public safety, and order at all festival venues; coordinate traffic management and fire prevention and firefighting measures; and be prepared to respond to any situations that may arise.
Relevant communes and wards were instructed to focus on their assigned tasks, particularly accelerating construction of traffic route No. 1A and a flower garden at Tay Bac Square, ensuring that the surrounding landscape and facilities are ready to accommodate festival activities./.
