According to a report of the provincial Management Board for Transport Works Investment and Construction, the section passing through Son La province is 32.3 km long and consists of three construction packages (Nos. 26, 27 and 28). The total value is estimated at more than 201 billion VND (7.6 million USD), equivalent to 5.77% of the contract value.

Since April 1, after the construction sites of the packages were basically handed over, contractors have strengthened construction resources. The total number of construction teams across the project has increased from 18 to 25. Contractors have mobilised more than 500 workers, along with hundreds of machines and pieces of equipment serving construction. Communes and wards have handed over 30.15 out of 32.3 km of cleared land to contractors, reaching 93.34%.

After the field inspection, Viet appreciated the efforts of construction units, contractors and supervising consultants during the implementation of the project. He requested relevant departments, sectors, units, and the People’s Committees of communes and wards to accelerate site clearance work, with the aim to complete the handover of the entire construction site, dumping grounds and service roads before May 31, in order to ensure synchronised construction conditions along the whole route.

He also urged proactive coordination in resolving difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation process. Contractors were asked to make the most of favourable weather conditions to mobilise maximum machinery, equipment and manpower, organise construction work scientifically, and strive to complete the project on schedule.
