Nearly seven decades have passed since President Ho Chi Minh and the Government delegation visited officials, soldiers, and ethnic communities in the northwestern region in Son La on May 7, 1959. At that time, he advised: “The people, soldiers, and officials of the Autonomous Region who are already united must become even more united, and those already striving in emulation must strive even harder so that the Autonomous Region becomes increasingly prosperous.”

Following his teachings, the Party organisation, government, and people of Son La’s ethnic groups have continuously worked hard and achieved many accomplishments, with strong development across various sectors and steadily improving living standards for the people.
