Provincial Military Command holds handover of Political Commissar duties

The Son La provincial Military Command on July 31 held a conference to hand over the duties of the Political Commissar. The event was co-chaired by Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies, and Secretary of the provincial Military Command’s Party Committee, and Lieut. Gen. Pham Duc Duyen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 2.

Under decisions by the Minister of National Defence, Colonel Sa Minh Nghia, Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command, was appointed Deputy Director of the Political Department of Military Region 2; and Colonel Dau Thanh Quang, head of the Organisation Division under the Political Department of Military Region 2, was appointed Political Commissar of the Son La provincial Military Command. At the conference, Nghia and Quang handed over the Political Commissar duties in accordance with regulations.

Addressing the event, Nghiem congratulated the two officers on being entrusted by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence with their new assignments. He expressed his confidence that in his new position Quang would continue to uphold his professional competence, leadership qualities and firm political mettle, maintain internal solidarity, and work closely with the Standing Board of the provincial Military Command’s Party Committee to promote collective strength. 

He also urged the new Political Commissar to closely follow the directions of the Ministry of National Defence, the Central Military Commission, the Military Region 2 Party Committee, the provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee, while coordinating with local departments, agencies, socio-political organisations and authorities to successfully fulfil all assigned tasks.

Lieut. Gen. Duyen called on both Nghia and Quang to uphold their sense of responsibility, quickly familiarise themselves with their new duties, and work with the leadership of their respective units to successfully accomplish all assigned missions./
