Provincial Military Command's Party Committee issues resolution on leadership work for H2

Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the provincial Military Command, chaired a conference on June 22 to issue a resolution on leadership over the implementation of military and defence tasks and Party building work in the last six months of 2026.

Attending the event were Major General Nguyen Hong Thai, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 2; Major General Nguyen The Hai, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 2; Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and members of the Party Committee of the provincial Military Command.

In the first half of 2026, the Party Committee of the provincial Military Command focused on leading and directing its agencies and units to comprehensively implement military and defence tasks, achieving all-round results. Notably, it successfully completed military recruitment work and organised training in a strict and well-structured manner.

It also advised and successfully organised the 2026 Son La Defence Area Exercise, ensuring strict discipline and absolute safety, with outstanding results. The units maintained a strict combat readiness regime and closely coordinated in grasping the political security situation in the locality.

In his remarks at the conference, Major General Thai requested the Party Committee of the provincial Military Command to continue keeping a close watch on  developments in the world, the country, and the province. He stressed the importance of timely advising local Party committees and authorities in implementing military and defence tasks, as well as organising training and exercises in line with practical conditions.

He also called for improving the quality of local military agencies, ensuring proper organisational structure and functions, and enhancing training and capacity-building to meet assigned tasks.

For his part, Nghiem requested the Party Committee of the provincial Military Command to promptly finalise and issue the resolution on leadership over the implementation of military and defence tasks and Party building work for the last six months of 2026, and concretise it into monthly and quarterly programmes and plans.

He also stressed the need to thoroughly disseminate and effectively implement the orientations, key targets and measures set out in the resolution; direct the organisation of defence area exercises and commune-level civil defence exercises, striving for 100% rated 'excellent' and ensuring absolute safety. At the same time, he called for the effective organisation of activities marking the 80th anniversary of the tradition of Military Region 2.
