Role models in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s example commended

The Son La provincial Federation of Labour held a conference on May 15 to review five years of implementing the Politburo's Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW and commend outstanding role models in studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style during the 2021–2025 period.

Attending the event were Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with leaders of trade unions from several agencies and units, as well as exemplary collectives and individuals.

An overview of the conference.

At present, the federation directly manages 186 grassroots trade unions with nearly 13,000 members. During the 2021–2025 period, studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s example was seriously implemented at all trade union levels in association with professional duties and emulation movements.

Patriotic emulation movements, especially the “Good Labour, Creative Labour” movement, were widely launched, attracting a large number of trade union members. Over the past five years, 22 initiatives in the province were awarded Creative Labour Certificates by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

Trade unions at all levels also supported the construction and repair of 97 “trade union-funded shelter” houses for disadvantaged members, with total funding exceeding 3.7 billion VND (140,000 USD). Many practical activities such as “Tet Reunion,” “Trade Union Tet Market,” “Trade Union Meal,” and Workers’ Month were organised on a large scale, contributing to improving the material and spiritual well-being of workers.

Speaking at the conference, Cha A Cua called on trade unions at all levels to continue thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the promotion of the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style, identifying this as a key and long-term task aimed at building a contingent of workers, officials, and labourers with strong political mettle, strict discipline, and a modern working style.

He also urged trade unions to further promote emulation movements on good labour and creative labour; care for and protect the lawful rights and interests of workers through practical and concrete actions; and promptly grasp and address the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of union members.

On this occasion, the provincial Federation of Labour presented certificates of merit to 15 outstanding collectives and 30 exemplary individuals for their excellent achievements in this work during the 2021–2025 period.
