The meeting was attended by Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Cha A Cua, President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; among other officials. 

In July, Steering Committee 329 substantially completed its planned tasks, meeting both schedule and quality requirements. To date, it has completed 168 of the 274 assigned tasks. The organising committee for the 2026 Son La provincial Digital Transformation Competition completed the judging of entries as scheduled, while the provincial Party Committee's Board for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation received 137 submissions across various categories. 

During the month, the provincial People's Council adopted two resolutions on mechanisms and policies to promote science and technology, innovation and digital transformation across the province. A review showed that 98.3% of hamlets, sub-zones and residential areas are now covered by 4G mobile broadband, while 37.2% have 5G coverage. Mobile network coverage reaches 98.4% of the province's population for 4G and 67.1% for 5G. The province still has 36 hamlet without mobile network coverage and 286 hamlets without fixed broadband internet access.

To date, all provincial departments, agencies, and commune- and ward-level administrations have appointed officials responsible for digital transformation. All nine of the province's critical information systems and the Party Committees of all 75 communes and wards have been assigned information security classifications. The provincial Department of Public Security has completed security-level assessments and approvals for the information systems of all 15 provincial departments and agencies, as well as 71 of the 75 commune- and ward-level People's Committees, in accordance with regulations.

As of August 3, an estimated 42.2 billion VND (1.61 million USD) had been disbursed for science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in 2026, equivalent to 15.48% of the allocated budget.

Concluding the meeting, Hung called on Party committees, authorities, agencies and units to continue thoroughly implementing the 14th National Party Congress Resolution on science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, along with Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, and related directives.

He urged relevant bodies to proactively materialise Regulation No. 338-QD/TW of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, dated July 9, 2025, Plan No. 77-KH/VPTW issued by the Party Central Committee Office on April 11, 2026, and the plan by the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee to roll out four Party administrative procedures on electronic platforms, ensuring all Party organisations and members complete the implementation in line with the Party Central Committee's roadmap.

He also instructed agencies and localities to keep the resolution monitoring system fully updated on the progress of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation tasks, while conducting monthly assessments and rankings of the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW across agencies and units under the provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and the People's Committees of communes and wards./.
