Son La appoints new Director of Department of Finance

Dinh Trung Dung, Secretary of the Quynh Nhai commune Party Committee and Chairman of the commune People’s Council has been appointed Director of the provincial Department of Finance, according to a decision announced at a conference held by the provincial People’s Committee on August 10.

The event was attended by Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments, agencies and relevant localities.

Under Decision No. 2079/QD-UBND, dated August 9, 2026, Dung will serve as Director of the Department of Finance for a five-year term, effective from August 10, 2026.

Presenting the decision and speaking at the event, Chairman Viet congratulated Dung on his new appointment. He asked the new Director of the Department of Finance to quickly take up his new responsibilities, bring his capabilities and experience into play, and proactively study the functions and tasks of the sector and areas assigned to him. 

He also called on Dung to work with the department’s leadership in a spirit of unity and consensus, improve the quality of policy advice, effectively implement assigned tasks, and make practical contributions to the province’s development in the coming period.

Dung expressed his appreciation for the attention and trust placed in him by the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and the provincial People’s Committee. He pledged to quickly familiarise himself with his new responsibilities, stabilise the organisation and ensure continuity in operations, leaving no gaps in leadership, direction or administration.

He also vowed to continue studying and improving his professional capacity, uphold his sense of responsibility, and work in solidarity with the department’s leadership to fulfill assigned tasks, contributing to the province’s development requirements in the new period.

Dung said the department will focus on resolving issues in a substantive manner, with people and businesses at the centre of public service. Particular attention will be paid to grassroots-level authorities, including working alongside them and providing guidance to address difficulties related to resources, budgets, public assets and development investment, he noted./.
