The working session was attended by Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with representatives from provincial departments and agencies.
At the event, Chieng Lao officials reported on the implementation of economic and social development tasks during the first nine months of 2026 and outlined priorities for the remainder of the year.
Chieng Lao was established through the merger of three former communes: Chieng Lao, Nam Gion and Hua Trai. Building on the strengths and potential of each area, the commune has prioritised high-tech agriculture, commercial livestock farming, clean agricultural supply chains, reservoir-based tourism linked to community tourism, and rural transport infrastructure.
Cultural and social programmes and social welfare policies have been implemented effectively and in a timely manner, officials said. Party and political system building has also progressed, while political security and public order have remained stable and national defence capabilities have been strengthened and maintained.
Addressing the function, Nghiem called on the commune to reinforce unity, promote collective decision-making and demonstrate strong determination in fulfilling its assigned tasks. Heads of Party committees, Party cells, agencies and organisations must be accountable to their respective Party committees for carrying out their political responsibilities, he said.
In agriculture, the commune should continue guiding residents in restructuring crops and livestock, adopting new production approaches and piloting innovative, effective economic models suited to local conditions, Nghiem said.
Regarding investment projects, he urged the commune to ensure that all public investment projects and national target programmes are completed in full compliance with regulations. Authorities should strengthen supervision and press contractors and investors to meet deadlines and bring projects into operation as soon as possible.
He also stressed the need to improve education quality and public healthcare, while maintaining security, public order and social safety, particularly through stronger efforts to combat drug-related crime.
The provincial leader further called for continued efforts to build a strong political system, enhance the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organisations, and strengthen unity and collective action to ensure the successful completion of assigned political tasks./.
