Son La promotes development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation

Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, head of the provincial delegation of National Assembly deputies, and head of the provincial Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation (Steering Committee 329), on June 3 chaired a meeting of the Standing Board of the Steering Committee to review the May performance and outline key tasks for June 2026.

Attending the meeting were Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Ha Trung Chien, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; along with members of Steering Committee 329.

During May, Steering Committee 329 issued documents directing Party committees under the provincial Party Committee, as well as relevant agencies and units, to implement activities related to the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. It also urged Party committees of communes and wards to approve information system security classifications in accordance with delegated authority. The provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board issued Plan No. 73-KH/TU on implementing four Party administrative procedures in an electronic environment.

The provincial People's Committee directed the provincial Department of Public Security to assess and approve information system security levels for provincial departments, agencies, sectors, and commune- and ward-level People's Committees. To date, 28 units have received approval for their information security system classifications. The provincial People's Committee also issued 26 decisions announcing newly promulgated, amended, supplemented, and abolished administrative procedures. Infrastructure, data resources, and human resources have continued to be strengthened, supporting activities related to science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nghiem requested members of Steering Committee 329 to continue thoroughly understanding and implementing the guidelines and viewpoints set out in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress regarding the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.


He also called for a review of assigned tasks and responsibilities, with a focus on ensuring implementation according to schedule. In addition, he emphasised the need to strengthen discipline and accountability in the execution of public duties during the implementation process.
