Shortly after the Ministry of Finance issued the plan for the 2026 Economic Census, the provincial People's Committee established the provincial Steering Committee and its standing support team. At the same time, 100% of communes and wards consolidated their steering committees to ensure the unified and synchronised implementation of the census following the rearrangement of administrative units and the organisation of the two-tier local government model.

Under the plan, the economic census was conducted in two phases. The first phase, from January 5 to March 10, collected information from individual non-agricultural, forestry and fishery production and business establishments, cooperative groups, and religious and belief establishments through the computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI). The second phase, from March 1 to April 30, covered enterprises, associations, federations, non-public service units and other units as prescribed.

The results of the 2026 Economic Census in the province showed that information was collected from 40,837 surveyed units, including 2,379 enterprises and cooperatives; 37,051 individual production and business establishments; 50 religious and belief establishments; and 1,357 administrative, public service units and associations.

To date, the province has completed acceptance checks for 2,253 survey areas covering 36,388 establishments. The survey of individual production and business establishments was completed three days ahead of the adjusted schedule, with information collected from 36,560 establishments. The enterprise survey was completed two days ahead of schedule, with 3,676 companies completing their declarations. The province also completed 100% of surveys of religious and belief establishments, non-public service units, and associations.

During the implementation process, the provincial Steering Committee regularly directed, inspected and supervised progress; promoted the application of information technology; and established online professional exchange groups to promptly address difficulties and obstacles faced by enumerators and information-providing units. These efforts ensured that the census results were complete, accurate and consistent with requirements set by central authorities.
