An overview of the meeting on September 11 to review the growth scenarios for the third and fourth quarters and the whole year of 2026.

According to reports from the provincial Department of Finance and Statistics Office, the province’s electricity production in the first six months of the year reached 5.28 billion kWh, about 6.1% lower than estimated. This was the main reason why the province’s GRDP growth in the period stood at only 5.1%, 0.92 percentage points below the target. In response to this, the province is reviewing and adjusting its management scenario to achieve its target of 8% GRDP growth for 2026.

The Director of the provincial Department of Finance reports on the review of the growth scenario.

To achieve the 8% growth target for 2026, participants at the meeting focused on discussing and proposing solutions to adjust the growth scenarios in line with the practical conditions of each sector and field.

In agriculture, the province will maintain stable output of fruit, coffee and tea, as well as livestock production; proactively prevent and control natural disasters and diseases; and promote value-chain linkages from raw material areas to processing and consumption.

Regarding industry, it will closely monitor the production and business activities of major enterprises, particularly those engaged in power generation and agricultural processing, while promptly addressing difficulties to expand production capacity.

Attention will be paid to speeding up the implementation and disbursement of capital for key projects, transport and urban infrastructure projects, with the aim to complete the 2026 plan. It will stimulate domestic consumption and develop e-commerce; effectively tap the potential of tourism routes and destinations, including Moc Chau, Van Ho, Ta Xua and the Son La hydropower reservoir; and improve the quality of accommodation and food services.

In addtion, efforts will be made to closely manage regular expenditure and practise thrift, while resources will be focused on social welfare, education, healthcare, science and technology, and digital transformation.
