Son La steps up digital transformation in Party agencies

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung on September 18 chaired a meeting to review digital transformation across Party agencies and organisations in the province.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung chairs a meeting with the provincial Party Committee’s advisory and support agencies and Party Committees directly under the provincial Party Committee on digital transformation.

The meeting brought together members of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, leaders of the provincial Party Committee’s advisory and support agencies, Party Committees directly under the provincial Party Committee, and the Party’s public service units.

Delegates attend the meeting.

Since the beginning of the year, Party agencies and organisations across Son La have stepped up the implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, Decision No. 204-QD/TW of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, and other directives of central and provincial authorities on digital transformation.

Efforts have focused on developing databases, digitising records and expanding the use of digital platforms for leadership, direction and administration.

Standing Vice President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Manh Hung speaks at the event.

In Party building, the Party Member Database 4.0 has been updated with information on 3,202 Party organisations and 96,525 Party members, with data standardisation reaching at least 99%.

The electronic Party Member Handbook is now regularly used by 85,214 Party members, or 93.6% of the total. Authorities have also reviewed and updated 42,975 Party member records and digitised 52,615 records.

A representative of the provincial Party Committee’s Organisation Board presents a report at the meeting.

Digital transformation is also gaining momentum within Party Committees directly under the provincial Party Committee. The Party Committee of provincial Party Agencies, for example, has expanded the use of shared software systems, accelerated the digitisation of records and data, and provided digital skills training for officials and civil servants.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Lo Minh Hung addresses the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Hung called on agencies and units to continue implementing central and provincial authorities’ policies on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, with a focus on Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Decision No. 204-QD/TW. He also urged them to ensure the timely rollout of four Party administrative procedures through electronic platforms.

He called for continued implementation of the 100-day Action Plan to address bottlenecks in digital transformation, along with reviews and upgrades of network infrastructure, equipment and transmission systems to strengthen information security. Agencies were also asked to accelerate the organisation and digitisation of archival records.

Officials and civil servants should become proficient in the Party’s digital systems and applications, use digital signatures and process documents entirely online. The province will maintain paperless meetings and review the need for dedicated digital transformation staff.

The provincial Party Committee Office will coordinate with Viettel Son La to upgrade transmission lines and equipment for online meetings, ensuring stable connectivity, particularly at commune-level meeting points./.
