Son La has been allocated more than 7.86 trillion VND (299.6 million USD) in public investment capital for 2026, including nearly 1.98 trillion VND carried forward from 2025 and more than 5.88 trillion VND allocated for 2026. The funding has been assigned to 87 project investors.

As of August 3, the province had disbursed more than 2.99 trillion VND, equivalent to 38% of the total capital plan and 44.7% of the detailed allocation plan, up by more than 374 billion VND from June 30.

Project investors have accelerated administrative procedures, project acceptance and payment processes to speed up disbursement. Several units recorded notable progress, including the provincial construction investment project management boards, the provincial Department of Public Security, and the People's Committees of To Hieu ward, Moc Chau ward and Mai Son commune.

However, several project investors continue to lag behind schedule, weighing on the province's overall performance. Thirteen investors have disbursed less than 50% of their allocated capital.

Project investors said delays were mainly caused by obstacles in site clearance, bidding procedures, capital reallocation and rising construction material costs. They committed to implementing detailed disbursement roadmaps through the third quarter and the end of 2026.
