There are currently 776 foreign nationals residing in the province, most of them Lao students. Inspections showed that they have generally complied with Vietnamese laws and regulations.
Participants discussed coordination in managing the entry, exit, transit, residence and activities of foreign nationals; receiving information on and welcoming foreign delegations; and coordinating in handling cases involving violations of Vietnamese law.
Speaking at the meeting, Hau called on provincial departments, agencies and relevant units to strengthen the management of foreign nationals and proactively monitor and share information on their entry and exit, residence and activities.
He also called for a review of difficulties and obstacles arising from the implementation of current regulations to propose amendments and supplements. Greater coordination is also needed in managing cooperation activities, attracting investment and promoting international cooperation, he said./.
