At the conference to review the three-year implementation of Conclusion No. 94-KL/TU dated January 23, 2021 of the provincial Party Committee on tourism development in Son La province until 2025, with a vision towards 2030.

With the leadership and direction of the provincial Standing Committee’s Standing Board, Party committees and authorities at all levels have drastically implemented tourism development tasks. After more than three years of implementing the conclusion, Son La's tourism sector has seen positive and significant results, driving tourism development.

Numerous planning schemes have been developed and implemented in accordance with the province's socio-economic development plan. Tourism infrastructure has been invested synchronously, with over 1.15 trillion VND (46.5 million USD) allocated for 14 projects in the 2021-2025 period. Many large-scale and modern tourism projects that meet international standards have been operational. Diverse tourism products associated with ecology, agriculture, and culture have been formed.

After three years, the province has welcomed over 12 million tourists, generating a revenue of 12.6 trillion VND, representing a rapid and stable growth rate of 13% per year and contributing approximately 6% to its gross regional domestic product (GRDP). The tourism sector's position in the province's socio-economic development has been increasingly elevated, gradually building Son La into a tourism hub of the northwestern region.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh speaks at the event.

In his concluding remarks, Khanh urged Party organizations, Party committees, and local authorities to continue disseminating and implementing Conclusion No. 94-KL/TU. He emphasised the need to devise focused tasks and solutions for tourism development, based on the motto: “Distinctive products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized, and friendly destinations.”

He called for enhancing the effectiveness of state management in tourism, promoting administrative reform, improving the investment environment, and improving competitiveness. Additionally, leveraging cultural and agricultural advantages to develop diverse, unique, and attractive tourism products is also essential, he added.

He highlighted the importance of promoting and advertising Son La’s tourism brand and image, developing both domestic and international tourism markets, and enacting policies to boost tourism development, with the goal of making tourism a key economic sector by 2030.
