At the event, participants reflected on the significance of the festival and reviewed progress in the nationwide movement to safeguard national security, as well as socio-economic development in Long Luong hamlet and Van Ho commune at large.
Once regarded as an area with persistent security and public order challenges, Van Ho has undergone a marked transformation. The return of stability to its hamlets and villages reflects not only sustained efforts to combat and prevent crime, but also the strength of public support and a firm people's security posture right at the grassroots level.
The "All People Safeguard National Security" movement in Van Ho has gained broad momentum, becoming a shared responsibility across the political system and among local residents.
In his remarks, Party General Secretary and State President Lam congratulated and commended the Party Organisation, authorities and people of Son La province, particularly Van Ho commune, for their perseverance in overcoming numerous challenges and achieving notable progress that has contributed to the nationwide "All People Safeguard National Security" movement.
He also urged Party committees, authorities and socio-political organisations at all levels to continue effectively implementing policies to strengthen the movement in tandem with patriotic emulation campaigns, helping it gain broader traction across society and become a vibrant, widespread revolutionary movement.
The leader called for the annual festival to be held in a more substantive and effective manner, while improving community-based self-governance, crime prevention, self-protection and mediation mechanisms in residential communities, workplaces, businesses and educational institutions.
He also stressed the importance of identifying, nurturing and promptly recognising exemplary individuals, initiatives and best practices in building the movement, saying they would help ensure national security and support Vietnam's goal of becoming a strong and prosperous nation in its new era of development.
Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nghiem expressed his thanks to the top leader for recognising and commending achievements made by Son La province and Van Ho commune in particular in promoting the movement in recent years.
He said Son La province would fully implement the comprehensive directions delivered by the General Secretary and President. He said the provincial Party Organisation, authorities and people would remain united in pursuing the goals set out in the Resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the 16th provincial Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, and the province's socio-economic development targets for 2026 and the years ahead.
