Attending the new academic year opening ceremony and inauguration of Chieng Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School were Hoang Van Nghiem, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Son La Party Committee and head of the province's delegation to the National Assembly; Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; among others.
The ceremony was connected online with the central venue at Muong Khuong Boarding School in Muong Khuong commune, Lao Cai province, as well as other venues across the country.

In the festive atmosphere of the new school year, delegates, teachers and students at Chieng Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School, together with participants at venues and educational institutions nationwide, took part in the flag-raising ceremony and sang the national anthem, while the ceremonial drumbeat marking the start of the new school year was performed simultaneously with the central venue.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and the handover of Chieng Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School for operation were also held simultaneously with the central venue.
Construction of the school began in early November 2025, with total investment of 230 billion VND (8.83 million USD). The school covers about 5 hectares and comprises 23 items and auxiliary facilities.
After completion and being put into operation, Chieng Son Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School will meet the educational and boarding needs of about 1,000 students in the Chieng Son border area.
In the new 2026-2027 school year, Chieng Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School has 980 students from grades 3 to 9, mainly children from ethnic minority communities.
The school has established professional subject groups, an administrative office group and mass organisations. It has also completed its organisational structure and arranged teaching staff to meet requirements for teaching, caring for and managing students.
At the event, Vice President Xuan and Secretary Nghiem presented flowers and gifts to congratulate the school.
They also presented gifts to 70 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have made efforts to excel in their study at the school, and planted a commemorative tree on the grounds of the new school./.
