These cultural houses are equipped with sound and lighting systems, and sports equipment to meet the needs for training and competition of traditional ethnic sports. There are also 185 grassroots art teams with regular activities, and 36 cultural clubs with over 2,400 members. All ethnic cultural clubs have mastered six traditional Xoe dances and the dance of solidarity.

In March 2025, Son La city will host the Ban (Bauhinias) Flower Festival with a variety of cultural and sports activities, recreating the traditional festivals of the ethnic communities.
