Khau Pum women preserve traditional cultural beauty

Khau Pum hamlet, Muong Chien commune, has nearly 100 households with more than 500 residents, most of whom are Mong people who have long lived closely together at the foot of the high Khau Pum mountain. The women in the hamlet actively participate in social activities, are dynamic in economic development, and work to build happy families.

In particular, Mong women in Khau Pum always preserve the beautiful cultural traditions of their ethnic group. They are skilled in embroidery, dye their own indigo fabric to make traditional costumes, and create decorative patterns with beeswax. In addition, the women maintain an art performance team with 16 members, active for many years. They are trained to choreograph and perform cultural items rich in ethnic identity, taking part in performances and exchanges to introduce Mong culture to the wider community.
