The provincial Centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, in coordination with Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, opened a tourism skills training course for tourism businesses, cooperatives, and households operating in Ta Xua, Bac Yen, Xim Vang, and Muong Coi communes on August 13.

The provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with FoodShare Northern Vietnam Social Enterprise Joint Stock Company, provided support to people affected by flooding in Sop Cop, Pung Banh, and Muong Lan communes on August 12-13.

The Silviculture Research Institute (SRI) under the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences, in collaboration with the Farmers’ Unions of Son La province and Yen Chau commune, on August 11 launched a training workshop on Teak (Tectona grandis) seedling propagation and plating in Yen Chau.

The Son La provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi) and the Youth Union of Van Ho commune, on August 9 held the inauguration ceremony of a solar-powered streetlight project in the commune’s Chot hamlet.

Military Region 2 under the Ministry of National Defence in coordination with Son La province launched construction and repairs of homes damaged by natural disasters in Dua Cat hamlet, Chieng So commune, on August 9.

The Fire Zumba charity club from To Hieu ward on August 9 visited and presented gifts to households affected by Storm Wipha in Huoi Mot commune.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province on August 9 received 4,000 cartons of fruit juice and 150 million VND (5,719 USD) in cash from Hanoi-based Tan Do Beverage Co., Ltd., along with 100 million VND from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly to aid disaster recovery efforts.

The provincial Hospital of Dermatology and Leprosy, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Department of Health, on August 9 organised a programme to provide free dermatological examinations and medications for residents in flood-affected areas of Muong Lam commune.

Over five days (from July 30 to August 3), the Youth Union of the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organised the “Green Summer Volunteer Campaign” 2025 in Huoi Muon hamlet, Muong La commune.

The Youth Union of Ta Xua commune on August 8 organised a summer activity themed “For a Safe and Healthy Summer for Children,” attracting the participation of over 100 local children and teenagers.
