Photo exhibition “The Song of Reunification” opens in Son La

The provincial Museum and Library has opened a photo exhibition entitled “The Song of Reunification” at its outdoor space in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025).

The exhibition showcases 80 valuable photos and documents related to the historic event of national reunification. It is divided into two parts. Part 1, themed “Son La and the Great Spring 1975 Victory”, highlights the historical context and Son La’s role in the resistance war against the US. It features images and materials showcasing the contributions of Son La’s people to the southern battlefront and the province’s efforts in honouring war heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, and families of revolution contributors.

Part II, entitled “The country full of joy”, features the historical context, the U.S. invasion strategy, Vietnam’s struggle for independence, and political and armed movements across the country. It also portrays the developments of major campaigns and historical moments leading up to the victory on April 30, 1975.

The exhibition aims to widely promote the great historical significance, stature and values of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. It also affirms the contributions of Sơn La’s Party, government, armed forces, and people to this victory. Furthermore, it highlights the province’s socio-economic and defence-security achievements over the past 50 years since reunification.

The photo exhibition is open to the public with free admission from April 23 to April 30.
