Unique "Cau Mua” Festival of Dao ethnic group in Phieng Con commune

As part of the ongoing third "Cau Mua" (praying for bumper crops) Festival of the Dao ethnic group in Phieng Con commune, Bac Yen district, many special and exciting activities took place on March 8, attracting crowds.

The festival consisted of ritual and festive parts. The ritual part began early in the morning, with the shaman preparing an offering tray to pray to the heaven and the earth, asking for favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and the prosperity and happiness of the people. The organisers judge the cultural camp of Ky Son hamlet, Phieng Con commune.

During the festive part, there were various activities, including a cultural camp competition, a culinary contest, a weaving competition, and sports competitions such as stick pushing, tug-of-war, and crossbow shooting.

 The competition featuring the traditional weaving of Dao ethnic group. The food tray prepared by Nhem hamlet, Phieng Con commune.  The organising committee presents the first prize to participating athletes and teams.

At the end of the programme, the organisers awarded 10 first prizes, 10 second prizes, and seven third prizes to the athletes and teams who achieved top results in the events.
