Charity programme provides free health check-up, medicine for poor people in Son La

The Bui family’s council of Son La province on November 29 coordinated with the Club of Physicians of the Bui Family in Vietnam and the provincial Centre for Disease Control to organise a charity programme to provide free health check-ups, consultation, Phaco surgery support, and medicine for about 500 poor people and policy beneficiaries in Son La province.

At the programme, 35 doctors and nurses from Military Hospital 103, Hanoi Medical University Hospital, Central Dermatology Hospital, Viet Duc University Hospital and Son La provincial General Hospital directly performed clinical examinations; abdominal ultrasound; X-ray; blood glucose and cholesterol screening tests; and distributed 500 free prescriptions to treat common diseases such as high blood pressure, joint pain, bronchitis, allergies to the people. In addition, they also supported free Phaco surgery for 40 people with cataracts. The total cost of the programme is more than 400 million VND (15,172 USD).

This was a practical activity to support people in accessing quality medical services, while demonstrating the sense of responsibility and humanity of the medical staff in social security work.
