Chieng Hac' forest coverage rate reaches 54.63%

Chieng Hac commune is managing, caring for, and protecting 23,991 hectares of forest, including 19,138 hectares of protection and special-use forests, 3,732 hectares of production forests, with the remaining area designated for other forest purposes. The forest coverage rate has reached 54.63%.

 

Officers from Forest Protection Sub-department Region VIII and the forest protection management team of Cang hamlet, Chieng Hac commune, patrol the forest.

During the year, the commune coordinated with Forest Protection Sub-department Region VIII to organise nine conferences to disseminate legal regulations on forest protection and development to nearly 1,000 participants. At the same time, commitment agreements on forest protection and forest fire prevention and control were signed with households in the commune. 

The commune established nine out of 35 forest protection teams with more than 120 participants; coordinated with forest rangers to detect and handle two cases of illegal transportation of forest products and three cases of illegal forest destruction involving 13 individuals, imposing fines of over 150 million VND (5,706 USD) contributed to the State budget.
