Children in Huoi Mot commune get free health check-ups, medicine, gifts

The Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Insurance Supervision and Management under the Ministry of Finance and several insurance companies, organised a programme to provide free medical check-ups, medicine, and gifts for children in Huoi Mot commune at the Huoi Mot Semi-boarding Primary School for Ethnic Minority Students on September 13.

Free medical check-ups, medicine, and gifts are given to children in Huoi Mot commune.

During the programme, doctors from the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital examined and provided free medicine to nearly 600 children. Through the health check-ups, doctors detected cases of malnutrition, otitis media, and respiratory and digestive diseases.

They offered timely referrals for treatment at hospitals and provided guidance on disease prevention, accident and injury prevention, personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and safe, balanced nutrition for children.

In addition, the organisers donated 60 computers and equipment for computer labs, 450 sets of desks and chairs, 20 bicycles, 1,000 warm jackets for preschool children, along with various learning materials and Mid-Autumn Festival gifts. The total value of these contributions exceeded 1.2 billion VND (45,480 USD), mobilised from participating units and enterprises.
