First phase of Mong Hamlet – Son La Water Plant inaugurated

VBIC Son La Joint Stock Company held a ceremony in Kham hamlet, Chieng Coi ward on November 5 to inaugurate the first phase of the Mong Hamlet – Son La Water Plant.

The Mong Hamlet water plant and raw water pipeline project is invested by VBIC Son La Joint Stock Company, aiming to produce clean water meeting national standards from Mong hamlet irrigation reservoir, with a total capacity of 27,500 cu.m per day. The project is divided into three phases, with the capacity reaching 10,000 cu.m per day in Phase 1; 20,000 cu.m per day in Phase 2; and 27,500 cu.m per day in Phase 3.

The first phase of the project commenced construction in July 2023 and officially began operation on November 5, with a total investment of 102 billion VND (3.87 million USD). The project includes several key components such as lake water intake equipment, a 3.2 km water pipeline, a 10,000 cu.m/day water treatment system, a 2,000 cu.m clean water reservoir, a sludge treatment system, power supply, transmission, technical systems, and other auxiliary works.

The plant is operated by an automated control system.

The plant’s water treatment process is fully automated, employing advanced, eco-friendly technology with a closed-loop, zero-emission system. All parameters and water quality indicators are continuously monitored online. The clean water produced is connected to the water supply network of Son La Water Supply Joint Stock Company to serve local residents.

The completion of the first phase contributes to ensuring safe, efficient, continuous, and stable water supply, protecting public health, and meeting the domestic, production, business, and service water needs of residents across wards in the former Son La city.
