Residents of Phieng Bay hamlet, Muong Chien commune, plant cinnamon trees to green bare hills and mountains.

Since the beginning of the year, the commune has effectively coordinated communication and awareness-raising efforts on forest protection and forest fire prevention and control; mobilissed residents to plant more than 5,000 scattered trees of various types; maintained nearly 250 hectares of fruit trees counted toward forest coverage; and encouraged people to plant economic trees such as cinnamon and macadamia.

These efforts have contributed to greening barren land and hills while supporting economic development, thereby increasing the commune’s forest coverage rate to 58.75%.
